Having had the misfortune of working with contractors, where I may as well have set fire to my wallet, I was lucky enough to be introduced to Steve and my faith has been restored. What a great guy! Calls when he says he will, does what he said he would and then the acid test…… he only knows what he is doing. This guy could have saved me thousands in the past and I am sure he will in the future. The workmanship is excellent, the price was better than I had and he did it in the timeframe he said he would. I will have absolutely no reservations in recommending him to anyone that might need his skills and be able to sleep at night. Loft Doctors are simply amazing, we’ve have just completed our #loftconversion on our 1930’s semi in #Warlingham. After 6 short weeks the scaffolding came down today and the result are fantastic. We found Steve through a local friend who recommend him and we’ve already recommended him to several friends in the area.
Steve and his team are highly skilled, honest, experienced, considerate, and hard working which was particularly important during the WFH period and having two young kids at home most of the time. Until now, i’ve always been unsure about getting involved in big projects as I didn’t know who trust and what to look out for in quality but I am glad we found Loft Doctors. Especially as it the most amount of many you’re going to pay after buying a house!
In reality Steve is not just a builder but a project manager, from start to finish he takes on ownership and delivery of every aspect of the build himself and manages the trades he brings in excellently. In another life he may have been a high flying corporate leader or a commander of a battle ship. He knows how things should be done properly and to a high standard and where the pitfalls can occur. He thinks and plans ahead about every aspect and lines up each stage of the build like a pro project planner. Within days of agreeing we should go ahead the scaffolding was up and a giant crane was loading steel and timber on to the structure. On day 3 half the old roof had gone, by now there was no doubt in our minds that Steve meant business and knew how to get things done. He solved every problem that came his way and answered every question we came at him with.
Steve is generous with his advice and time and a real pleasure to work with, we never felt put out by asking things and he was always keen to show us what he was doing and way he was doing it that way – always in the pursuit of quality. Steve and his team arrived everyday like clockwork and never seemed to stop working.
Trust is a big part of entering into a building project there are so many unknown factors if you’ve never embarked on such a thing before so I am pleased we found someone we can trust and recommend. Everyone who entered our house was similarly minded, focused on doing the job to a high standard, very considerate and polite, timely and hard working. At one point we had 7 people in the house working on different things at ones, it felt like a scene from Challenge Anneka if you can remember that far back.

It is amazing what can be done in just three weeks – Steve and his lovely team have been working like Trojans and our two bed, one bathroom loft conversion is steaming ahead and already taking shape with the majority of the floors down, the shape of the dormers up and all sorts of other magic that I don’t really know the names for.
The team are brilliant – polite, funny and kind (my kids adore them, they are like celebrities in our house and they talk about them all the time). And Steve can really belt out a tune when singing along to the radio…
Steve has kept me updated, given us great advice and often has one of us up to show us progress etc. Can’t wait for it to be finished and by the looks of it, that will be quite soon!

Steve and his team were absolutely fantastic. We had instructed another builder to convert our loft but were very unhappy with how it was progressing. Fortunately for us Steve was able to step in and take over the build. We couldn’t have been happier with the professional and friendly can-do attitude he showed.
